Glad I don't do dual boots anymore... though I still might in the future for
testing code in a real Windows install, not a VM. Way down the road.

I still have one or two Windows machines so thankfully I don't have to
dual boot.. I don't trust MS to not bork up my install.

If I wanted to dual-boot, I'd get a second SSD to put Win11 on, not
partition a single one. But since I don't game, Linux is all I need,
anyway. I have Wine for this NNTP client, don't even need Winblows to
run it. It's great.

I think my last dual boot was about 10 years ago. All four of my Linux
boxes are pure Linux. I've really come to dislike VMs. I don't care how
many cores there are but in most cases there is only one CPU, one NIC, one
storage device even if it's a RAID array, and one bus.

I don't really play many modern games, so most of the games I like have
native linux versions or work fantastically under wine thankfully.

In the space of one hundred and seventy-six years the Mississippi has
shortened itself two hundred and forty-two miles. Therefore ... in the Old
Silurian Period the Mississippi River was upward of one million three hundred
thousand miles long ... seven hundred and forty-two years from now the
Mississippi will be only a mile and three-quarters long. ... There is
something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesome returns of
conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact.

Hmmmm, even VirtualBox support multiple CPUs and NICs, IIRC.

it can still be changed today.

'In most cases'. Dual homed NICs are common. Consumers seldom get their
hands on multi-processor Xeon boxes. Even our client sites don't get
beyond multi-core, thank the Gods, They get into enough trouble setting up
persistent routes for multiple NICs.
