Gosh, isn't it odd how neither DA nor MN National Guard has any record
of a "fall 2004" notification.

As I said before, the earliest substantiated record was March 2005, and
in this era, these notices were very broad with a 2 year window. Give
or take such a wide & sliding scale, Walz could have also been out
simply by doing nothing (eg, not re-enlisting for another 4yr term).

At best, people are suggesting that there were rumors. Of course rumors
exist and get tossed around too, but that observation doesn't magically
give them credibility, especially the further out that one goes.
