At the very core, the beating heart, of any GNU/Linux installation
or distro are two magnificent software packages: Glibc and Gcc.

Consulting the documentation for these absolutely essential packages
one finds a common name:

Dr. Richard M. Stallman

Yes, Stallman has been as crucial to GNU/Linux as Linus Torvalds,
yet he remains relatively unsung.

Let us rectify this immediately.

Say what you will about Larry, but Torvalds and Stallman are heroic
figures. Linux is literally the only meaningful alternative to a
commercial system.

of child porn:

FreeBSD and OpenBSD are also Unix-like alternatives, but they require
more knowledge and effort to install than Linux or Windows.

KDE, Gnome, XFCE, Mate, Cinnamon and LXQt are available for FreeBSD.
