For Yak, debt and deficit have nothing to do with reality but everything to do with
partisanship.

Republicans only complain about debt and spending when there's a Democrat in the White
House *or* they control the Senate *or* they control the House. In fact, Republicans can
control both Houses and the Oval and *still* blame the deficit on the Democrats. They
blamed Reagan's spending on the Democrats at a time when the Dems only held the House.
They blamed the Dems for Bush's deficits even though they held both houses and the oval
before 2007.

They brazenly claimed that Clinton's spending restraint was due to the GOP Congress
despite the fact that GOP leaders including Tom Delay were on record saying they were
determined to spend "every penny and then some" of Clinton's surpluses.

Yet they still vote Republican and they still blame the Democrats.

The stupidity of anyone who beLIEves the Republicans will cut spending
is hard to fathom, but it appears to exist.

Believing the Republicans (or Democrats) will do much of anything useful
is the road to disappointment. I laugh when I see 'so and so sponsored 324
bills' most of which are on the level of renaming the Podunk Pa post
office in honor of some other government drone.

Clinton's last 2 years had surpluses, but we had cumulative deficits
across his 8 years.

The Counterterrorism Section of the National Security Division has
supervisory authority over 18 U.S.C. §§ 871 and 879 cases. As great

The debt went down as expressed as %GDP for the first time since Ford left office and even
in nominal dollars Clinton's debt increase was the *lowest* since Carter left office.

Obama inherited a trillion dollar systemic deficit. He reduced that by two thirds and
rebuilt the economy George Bush destroyed in the process. Under Trump, deficits began to
rise again. 8T he put on the debt in only 4 years. That's 2T a year in new debt under
Trump. Biden has not lowered the deficit as much as I'd like but it's tough to do with
systemic deficits. Hopefully the Dems will get to work on it. But why should they?

No, he's not. Clinton cut budget deficits and created budget surpluses in spite of GOP
attempts to destroy those surpluses.

That's a deficit discussion and if Bush had not cut taxes and if he had practiced the same
spending restraint as Clinton had, budget surpluses would have paid off the debt years
ago.

But, the budget minus Social Security had a cumulative deficit and thus
the total debt went up.

Clearly, it is to only blame democrats for every last penny of deficit
spending while looking the other way when republicans .. especially
Trump's $2T + $4T spending spree .. have done much worse.

FYI, let's also not forget Reagan's tax cuts too, for when one looks at
the fiscal balance sheet, that's when Federal deficits took off, as well
as the income inequity leading to the erosion of the US Middle Class,
under the guise of 'Trickle Down' supply side economics.
