Two times here. First one was just a jail sentence of 6 days (hadn't
paid the quadrupled amount of fine for not having repaired my turn
signal light). The other time it was more serious. I was in county jail
this time, and I didn't know how long they were going to keep me there.
After asking others I found out some of them were there for 6 months,
waiting!

In both cases, suddenly the door opened and I was told to get out. First
one, after 2 days, the second after 3 days.

I saw and talked to very interesting guys in there, both times. A few
were highly educated. One I remember was a chemist. He'd made a lab in
his house making narcotics or some other sort of "recreational" chemicals.

And there was this little guy, really a high school age, who were
telling us in detail schemes he had invented to take stuff out of large
stores. Some of it were ingenious. They required a team work. None were
done by himself alone.

There are more. Very interesting people I got to talk to, none of which
I'd have a chance to meet outside jail.

The chemist guy came in after I did and was very worried and looked
devastated. I remember I calmed him down after asking him a few
questions. My main point to him was that things were going to be out of
his control now for a little while, so he should actually relax and
don't give a damn. He understood that and part of his stress
disappeared. Then I told him how to approach what's ahead for him to
help himself. "Divide it into little steps and take the steps one little
bit at a time."

His degree was from Ann Arbor! I got close to begin my physics study in
USA in that University. I was in Dallas only because my language school
was in Dallas and had no intention of actually go to school here. But
the changes in the government in Iran affected my plans, and getting
into UTD seemed a quick easy strategy to fall back on to at least keep
my immigration status. Soon war broke out in Iran (with Iraq) and my
father told me not to go back home. They'd send me straight to the
front. And then the damn war kept on and on and on.

Anyway, early on I had decided to return to Iran and like many friends
continue my studies in there. But the war fucked it up.

My initial plan in USA was to just get a masters degree in Ann Arbor and
then go back home. I had communicated with them starting in Iran, and a
couple of other classmates of mine were already in Ann Arbor. But the
money situation got totally fucked almost as soon as I stepped into this
country. My savings in the bank in Tehran vanished (those thieves took
all the money and ran away to Los Angeles). Then the money I already had
in here got frozen by the government here. So this "Ann Arbor" thing
together with a few other plans never materialized.

Seems that basic wattage math is beyond Feeb's understanding.

It doesn't take much, especially when one has sweaty palms.

In any event, my recollection is that we ran my little device off of a
heavier laboratory power line; I can't recall offhand if it was 240V or
208V, as we had both of those available and we didn't need to use any of
the several bigger options which were present in the lab space.

Yup. Its why takes the OSHA safety training and fosters good lab
habits, because a short would tend to ruin one's day. Water is a big
one to watch out for, because it doesn't take much dampness on one's
hands to make skin a "good enough" conductor.

n any event, this was just proof-of-principle baby prototype which ran
directly off of grid; the next iteration has 16x greater output & is
off-grid capable, due to provisioning of an 80kW-hr Li battery pack:

But Feeb's the only real EE expert on this stuff in COLA, ya know! /s

Good job Feeb. So impressive. So adult.

You idiots don't have a leg to stand on. This is pure drivel.

For one thing, the voltage regs would act as fuses and blow
when the current draw exceeded 100mA -- that's milliamps.

That's why I always put a 100mA fuse on my circuits.
But the fuse is intended not to save me but to save the
voltage regs.

The fuse is not visible in the superb photos however.
It'll be there for a thousand years and will never be
required.

If your supervisor ever read your posts you'd be canned
immediately.

Well, 5VDC will never dangerously conduct through your skin...

Any voltage regulator that's worth a shit self-protects against
excessive current draw.

Believe what you want. Just don't come back bitching to me when you
learn the hard way about the risk of having contaminants on your hands
which are conductive.

TL;DR: good housekeeping is integral to operating safely in a proper lab
space.

Likewise, why there's also the joke about how "Old Guy" EE Techs work
with one hand in their pocket. Hint: its not because they're lazy.

Oh, so your 'glorious' PC runs on <100mA? That's interesting, because a
3.5" HDD run on 12V and each one draws up to 12W, so each one of yours
needs 10x more amperage than your fuze allows.

Oh, you didn't hear? As per Physfitfreak, I'm so wealthy that I just do
whatever I want: it even makes Elon Musk jealous of me.

Jesus F. Christ! What a supreme idiot!

That fantastic, technically perfect power supply is for the microphone.

I can't believe that anyone, or anything for that matter, can be
so stupid! It cannot be possible!

Tells us the name of the comapny that pays you. It needs to be razed

Ah, so you were being ambiguous again on your claims.

But if this alleged fuze is for the microphone, then where is it?

FYI, claiming it is "hidden" doesn't fly because that means that you
chose to make it unservicable, despite already having two panels which
would have been easy & conveniently mounted: you're showing that if a
fuze does exist, you have a piss-poor circuit design implementation.

FWIW, I think I had one of the dot matrix printers you designed for
decades ago ... you know, the one with the refitted board on the print
head to add the wheatstone bridge that had been forgotten? /s

And of course your other problem is that your so-called 'microphone' is
just one piece of cruddy shit you have laying around without adequate
electrical protection: where's the safety/fuzes for each of the PCs?

Better go lick your fingers and start checking if they're grounded.

The metal box of each motherboard power supply is also grounded
so there is never a danger of shock.

Also, every connector has the metal contacts buried in plastic.
There is no way for a human to contact them even if he desired.

I used to actually ground myself via a wrist strap to drain away
any static charge before working on the MB, but I don't do that
anymore. I can just touch the power supply case which is grounded.

Your concerns border on insanity. You should consult a qualified
neurologist.

Oops. I erred. There is no fuse on this unit.

Those are 1.5 amp voltage regulators, which means they can output
a max current of 1.5 amps. Note the tall heat sinks.

Although this unit will see not that much current output. Here it
powers a single op amp with only milliamps of current required.

Anyone who would believe that such a circuit posed a danger should
undergo a comprehensive neurological examination.

Fuse holders are readily avaiable that allow the easily installation
and replacement of fuses.

Circuit layouts do not have to be aeshetically pleasing. They just have
to work and this circuit design is likely the best possible.

He shouldn't have been in prison. They should've taken him to a mental
hospital facility and providing him with research sources. They _are_
"dumb bastards" though. Just this past weekend they had "ordered"
Italian police to hand over an Iranian who was in the business of
importing electronic stuff from Europe to Iran. They used some form of
sanction bullshit to tell Italians that his exports to Iran could be
used in defense projects too and such projects had killed two Americans
in Jordan!... Talking about using the relation between fart and their
left temple.

Italy first took the first steps to hand him over (they arrested him),
so Iranians immediately used the same technique that is required when
dealing with most ruthless criminals. Hostage! They made sure the
hostage in Iran was Italian and female. Italy's prime minister is female.

Nobody ever announces that he's taken "hostage". Iran used same type of
bullshit to accuse her to be a security threat to Iran.

The prime minister of Italy immediately released the Iranian and sent
him safe and sound to Iran just this past Sunday, and the Italian woman
was released. When the likes of gay Lindsey Graham objected her action,
she showed the middle finger to them!

Nobody in Europe, places his or her life ahead of those of some high
criminals in Washington. Not even their prime ministers. Europe is not
Israel, yet.

In dealing with Justice Department in this country, you're dealing
actually with another type of criminals, because their departments have
long been politicized. If you want justice, you might want to consider
taking someone of theirs hostage! That's how this nation responds. And
they take hostages too. There are still prisoners with not a single
court case made for them, residing in Guantanamo Bay prison, held by the
best and brightest of the U.S. They're hostages of course.

At the root of it, you're dealing with cro-magnons who do not understand
justice to begin with. Sense of justice has developed farther among
Modern Humans. You can see the proof of that by comparing Islam with
Christianity the way it was set by cro-magnons. In Christianity of
theirs, you are free to do any sin you want. Jesus will take care of
you. No such bullshit in Islam. No such bullshit in Modern Humans. No
such bullshit in Buddhism, even Shamanism and pagan practices south of
border with Mexico! You break the law, you pay for it.

I don't think they remember even their high school physics. They may
have bullshitted their ways past those courses. Then they come here show
that off!

Spoiled. Raised inside Class 1 cleanroom. Surrounded by Jewelries of his
"The Mama And The Papa." :-)

Did they speak of 1800 Amp current in relation to a computer box? ..
Hahhahhahhahh :) Fucking nincompoops. Even the EMP of a nuclear bomb
creates only a current of less than 10 amps across the boards, which is
good enough to destroy all appliances, computers, fighter jets, anything
with electronic boards inside and within the range.

Islam believes that the murderous pedophile Muhammed (piss be upon him)
was a model human being to be emulated. Muhammad (piss be upon him)
married a six-year-old while he was in his 50s and had relations with
her when she turned nine. Islam allows any of the brain-dead people who
believe in this false religion, a faith which knows nothing of the
Trinity, plagiarized the Bible and even accepted known fairy tales as
fact when they were known to be lies, to take such young girls just as
the head liar they call a prophet did. Islam calls for the death of Jews
and Christians because Muhammad (piss be upon him) expected to be
embraced by both groups and instead ended up being ridiculed. This
proves that the murderous pedophile is also sensitive. When Muslims are
told that the Koran demands that Jews and Christians should be treated
like dogs, they lie because the religion also allows them to do this as
long as it benefits the "religion."

Islam was responsible for much of the Slave Trade. Islam was responsible
for the enslaved of people who lived in coastal regions of Europe all
the way to Ireland. Islam terrorized the waters of the Mediterranean and
gave themselves the right to do so because everyone else was an infidel.
In fact, the American navy was created to respond to this because even
Americans who had never done anything to Muslims were enslaved. 1.5
million Europeans are estimated to have been taken by these barbarians.

The Poles saved Europe from being conquered by Muslims in 1683. The next
time, it might be a good idea to convert these people in the same way
they converted all people they came across: by giving them the choice to
either die or accept Christ.

Whatever degree that "truly confused Bogus-American" has, it hasn't
helped him understand that the 360 amps are the sum of individual
currents in thousands and thousands of distinct individual wires in the
board and the chips. The current in each of these wires is on average
the 360 amps divided by the number of those wires.

It can only amount to making the physical stuff a bit warm.

When I say even high school was too much for these Bozos, they don't get
it. They walk around and announce their being "American" for me. Not
even for my dick any of them is American.

An American-born who meets being American ends up in Russia these days!
Look around. Or in China. If they're not there yet, it is because a huge
number of Sheep like "truly confused Bogus-American" are busy making his
dick rich.

Instead of responding in the way your Antifa friends expect because
you're looking to gain their approval, how about you actually read the
Koran and learn how they intend to treat non-Muslims?

Read Surah 65:4 where we find out how Muslims are supposed to divorce
those wives they have who haven't yet menstruated.

Quran 9:29 where anyone who isn't a Muslim is to be taxed heavily.

Quran 7:159 who names the Jews as being the people who should be treated
like dogs and killed in 7:176.

Anyways, I already know that you won't back down and will defend the
very "faith" that intends to kill you, but I thought you should know.

Muslims are the worst liars I have ever met. They are like hairy dindu
nuffins.

He also erred, confusing the Amperage from a 120V
circuit for that for a 5V circuit -- then referred to
it as "EE", when it was basic electronics.

I was lucky enough to grow up with a Dad who was extremely
savvy to electronics, who learned the ropes from _his_ dad (as
well as being a Fire Control Technician in the Navy, and having
a career with electronics in DCPA/FEMA, and, and...).

Sidenote: Do they still teach electronics with discrete components
in High School? I hope so...I learned it growing up, but having
a structured course with theory helped with my "STEM" career (which
wasn't called that back then...).

(BTW, I was converting horsepower to kilowatts and back again when
I would read Chilton manuals for foreign automobiles in 6th grade.)

ObLinux:

units(1) knows horsepower.
