I'm only responding directly to you here as you're making things up

I'm not a biologist. I do know what you said was incorrect, however. I
can't find the actual post which makes me think you misrememberd the
discussion.

I didn't claim that. You misremembered, again.

That didn't happen. Again, you misremembered.

I corrected you in that the "RNA ball" is not huge. Viruses have tiny
genomes. RNA viruses are smaller than DNA viruses, which are smaller
than bacterial genomes, which are smaller than eukaryotic (like plants
and mammals) genomes.

Even this paper on viruses says so.

You don't understand UK PhDs. We don't sit classes or courses. It's all
pure research. And just because someone may have a PhD in, say,
population health (a medical science) doesn't mean you know about
molecular biology, genetics or immunology.

However, I did do genetics as part of my UG.

Your photos of books tell us all about the reality of your "degrees".
You also think youtube is a valid source. lol.

The fact remains that you ridiculed the use of "vehicle" in immunology, and
you claimed that a RNA viral genome of the SARS-COV-2 size was smaller in
comparison to other viruses. Both are preposterous statements by you.

I don't care that you make absurd assessments, Chris. The fact you do that
simply proves me right when I assess all you Apple trolls as uneducated.

I've always wondered if you Apple trolls even *read* your own cites, Chris.

That paper says *exactly* what I have been saying all along, and which you
had said was wrong - and yet - that paper shows *exactly* what I said.

This is a direct quote about RNA viral genomes from that very paper, Chris.

"viruses exhibit a wide diversity of genome sizes. RNA viruses
possess genomes that are universally small, ranging from 1,682
nucleotides (nt) (hepatitis delta virus [Deltavirus]) to 31,526
nt (murine hepatitis virus [Coronaviridae])."

Clue by four: 30K subunits is big for an RNA viral particle, Chris.
Very big.

The fact you don't understand the paper is consistent with all the Apple
trolls never understanding anything slightly complex - you prove me right.

You know nothing about immunology or viral genomes, Chris.
Simply because you don't even know what everyone else knows about them.

Just as Alan Baker knows nothing about racing or owning & driving BMWs.
For the same reason as you - he doesn't know the first thing about them.

None of you Apple trolls has the mental capacity to understand anything.
You prove me right every time you post.

And yet, I know immunology & genetics - and most of my life I wasn't even
in the biological sciences (although my undergraduate degree was in that).

The overall conclusion is readily apparent that none of you Apple trolls
owns the basic normal mental capacity to comprehend any technical subject.

Thanks for predictably adding me to your "Apple zealot troll" list.
Oh, and <yawn> is a well known historical method of telling a usenet
troll such as yourself to basically fuck off. Your response is a bit
childish, but we've all come to expect nothing less from you. Perhaps
you just don't understand the *gravity* of your current lack of
acceptance anywhere. Ha!

Every response from these Apple zealot trolls is that of a child, which,
let's be clear - is a key component of *why* their ego is tied up in Apple
products - and why they therefore defend Apple products to the death.

Why do you think Alan Browne loves to quote Apple white papers?
Why did nospam always claim nobody wanted anything Apple didn't have?
Why does Jolly Roger repeatedly defend even Apple's illegal actions?

All you zealot Apple trolls have been told your entire life you're stupid.
But Apple loves you.

Apple tells you that you're a genius for standing in long lines waiting for
the Apple Store doors to open so that you can affirm your genius with cash.

Afterward, Apple laughs at you Apple zealot trolls all the way to the bank.

Is that a 1-series or a 3? What year/model?

My 335i is the same color. It's been a great car (fuel pump issues got
worked out under warranty). 🙂👍

2012 135i M Sport.

My car had an electric water pump failure under warranty...

....and a failure of the o-rings on the oil filter housing...

....leading to oil leaking down onto the alternator...

....leading to a replacement of the alternator...

....and that wasn't under warranty.

Moral of the story:

If your 335i is using the same engine design, be very aware of you start
to smell any oil burning.

I was window shopping Bimmers and found a 1-series online (2010-12ish) that
was really cheap. Then after it hadn’t been bought for a month it got
cheaper and the listing started detailing some of the issues. Hard pass.
I’ve always been interested in an entry level older BMW. There was another
one that was kinda cool looking but I was already in the process of dealing
with my Civic getting rear-ended and totaled and replacing it with an HR-V.
I also had my eye on an ILX around the same price range. Those were pretty
much fancier Civics. I rarely see them and they were discontinued.

For some reason my Youtube feed coughs up rando videos on oddball cars.
Recently it was a 1971 Pantera being driven and I was smitten. Looks like
the sort of car it would be too easy to die in but having too much fun with
the demise. F’in beast.

I’m happy with the HR-V as a small crossover with a higher stance than my
Civic had. Maybe I’ll keep looking at 1-series Bimmers online. They seem
expensive to maintain, but cheaper to get into than a Mercedes or Porsche.
911s are a bit steep for me.

A tricked out 1-series would be sweet though I’d be better off with some
Japanese platform hot rod. I seriously don’t get stance cars with weird
camber.

Well, for me, I've experienced three real problems with my 1-Series:

1. The failed water pump (warrantied).

2. The failed oil sealing leading to a failed alternator (partially bad
design, but basically my fault for not investigating the smell of oil
far enough).

3. A failed turbocharger charge pipe; where the plastic pipe failed
where it was clipped to the metal intake plenum. I fixed that one myself
with about $70 in parts and (maybe) an hour of labour.

All part of the trend to stick American V8s into European sports cars. :-)

It's a classic thing with faddests of all types.

Racing cars started using more camber when tire construction went from
bias plies to radial, and if some was good for a racing car, then more
must be even better...

....right?

I once owned a 525i on which I had to replace almost everything because BMW
only knows how to make drive trains - BMW has no idea how systems work
together.

An example is the DISA valve is an abomination, as is the CCV and even the
ABS control module has those angel hairs which break in the goop they're
intertwined with.

The seat cables cause seat twist. Even something as simple as the
cupholders break. The Dorman window regulators have too small of a nylon
roller so the cable falls off. And don't even get me started on the Behr
plastic overly complex expansion tanks.

The water pump fails prematurely (and requires two special tools, including
a very thin very long 32mm open-end wrench to access), while the trunk loom
constantly frays causing shorts all over the place due to bare wires
touching.

Everyone had the BMW software (much of which was in German) including but
not limited to dis, easydis, gt1, progman, inpa, and ncs dummies & expert.

Much as I've studied the strange nature of you Apple trolls, I've always
wondered why BMW engineers can't make two systems work together other than
the drive train and suspension. Those do work fantastically together.

Nothing else does though... (at least not on the 525i which is the only
bimmer that I know about - but don't get me started on the beemers).

Heh heh heh ... when I left the BMW forums, they went *looking* for me.

I'm famous there for the detailed writeups of the failed parts.
And the tutorials.

But all you Apple trolls together have never written even *one* tutorial.
The reason is none of you own a helpful bone in your bodies.

Every one of you Apple trolls is a despicably horrid person.
It's part of why you are Apple trolls.

Your whole life everyone told you that you were stupid.
But not Apple.

Apple tells you that you're a genius for waiting in long lines.
And for paying through the nose to get half the functionality.

You, Hemidactylus, are not as sadistic as Jolly Roger or nospam is though.
Nor are you as incredibly stupid as Alan Baker & Snit are.

You're just a deceitful worthless piece of Apple trolling shit.
I apologize if I'm telling you what you already know about yourself.

All you Apple trolls are worthless pieces of shit who have never in your
entire lives done anything worthwhile for other fellow human beings.

Given all you Apple trolls are worthless pieces of shit who have never in
your entire lives done anything worthwhile for other fellow human beings
it's not surprising that you don't understand even what a CCV is.

Alan Baker, who claims to own bimmers, doesn't know what a CCV is.
He has no idea what a DISA valve is either.
He knows nothing of INPA nor EDIABAS. He can't even spell them.

And yet, you claim out of your sheer ignorance, that nobody could know this
stuff simply because none of you Apple trolls can know anything at all.

It's who you are. Worthless pieces of human excrement. Every one of you.
The minute you Apple trolls leave this group, it will return to normal.

Thank God those worthless nospam & Lewis & JF Mezei Apple trolls are gone.
Let's hope you're next.

What's clear is you Apple trolls have the same traits in common:

1. All of you were told your entire lives you were stupid.
2. But Apple loves you.
3. Apple tells you that you're smart for waiting in those long lines.

So you defend Apple to the death.
No matter what.

All the Apple trolls (such as Lewis, Jolly Roger, Alan Baker, Alan Browne,
Haemactylus, Chris, Joerg Lorenz, JF Mezei et. al) are loyal to Apple.

I grant you that.

Notice how embarrassed these ignorant Apple trolls are that someone
actually knows something about cars (in this case, bimmers) that they
themselves can't possibly know (because they lack a normal IQ).

Alan Baker, who professes to *race* cars doesn't even know what a catenary
is, when it's one of the most critically important terms in physics when it
comes to *understanding* curved shapes and how they sweep over distance).

Alan Baker, who professes to own a BMW, doesn't even know what the term
"bimmer" means - and worse - since it was a racing term derived after
"beemer" was - he's completely ignorant of what EVERYONE else long knew.

Everyone makes fun of the noobs who don't know these things.
Alan Baker is a classic noob far to the left of DK's Mount Stupid.

Why?
These ignorant Apple trolls were told their whole lives they're stupid.

So when someone (anyone) knows more than they do (which is just about
everyone), they make these lame kindergarten jokes to cover their shame.

Why don't you Apple trolls simply admit you know nothing about anything?

HINT: You can't.

Go back to the observation every Apple troll has told his entire life that
he's stupid - but - Apple tells him he's a genius for waiting outside the
Apple store all night with other Apple geniuses just like he feels he is.

But why do I NEED to know what a CCV is, Arlen? As it happens, I figured
it was short for "CrankCase Ventilation", but who cares? Even if I
didn't happen to know what it was, I could look it up when I need to; as
I did when you mentioned the DISA valve earlier.

I want to USE a car. I pay others to fix it when it breaks; mostly. I've
certainly done some fixes myself and I do have a Bluetooth OBD II
adapter and the appropriate software to check on issues that arise.

I notice you haven't address my post where I layout my current cars and
credentials.

Was that just cowardice?
