Lesson learned: Don't believe Apple's lies when they're generations behind.

After being desperate to imply that Apple isn't two generations behind
Android on AI, Apple prematurely announced Apple Intelligence for iPhones
and then Apple backtracked when the truth was found out that Apple lied at
the WWDC when it was found out that this two-years-late AI will only be on
the most expensive new iPhones.

Now the truth of Apple's lies is farther fleshing out as Apple is further
backtracking from their premature AI promises even more (as Apple falls
even further behind everyone else in AI offerings for their customer base).

The AI upgrades Apple announced during WWDC will miss the iOS 18 launch!
https://www.theverge.com/2024/7/29/24208656/apple-intelligence-ai-ios-18-1-iphone-16-launch

However, Apple could roll out the AI update later to these most expensive
of new devices in store with its in-the-box updating machine called Presto.

Loyal users who pay through the nose for Apple's latest outrageously
expensive iPhones will still have to wait at least to Spring 2025 to obtain
most of the features Apple prematurely featured, such as a Siri that can
perform actions within apps and gain onscreen awareness.

Lesson learned: Don't believe Apple's lies when they're generations behind.

Apple wasn't attempting to imply anything of the kind.

Apple announced at the WWDC that it would at first only be coming to the
top of line iPhones:

'Apple Intelligence will be available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro
Max, and iPad and Mac with M1 and later, with Siri and device language
set to U.S. English.'

<https://www.apple.com/ca/newsroom/2024/06/introducing-apple-intelligence-for-iphone-ipad-and-mac/>

And here's what they say currently:

'Apple Intelligence is compatible with these devices.
Apple Intelligence is free to use and will initially be available in
U.S. English. Coming in beta this fall.*

iPhone 15 Pro Max A17 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro A17 Pro
iPad Pro M1 and later
iPad Air M1 and later
MacBook Air M1 and later
MacBook Pro M1 and later
iMac M1 and later
Mac mini M1 and later
Mac Studio M1 Max and later
Mac Pro M2 Ultra'

<https://www.apple.com/apple-intelligence/>

So where's the lie?

Also note that it was announced at WWDC that it was coming out as a beta:

'Apple Intelligence harnesses the power of our most advanced silicon,
and will be available on iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad and Mac with M1 and
later. Apple Intelligence will be available to try out in US English
this summer. We are bringing it to users in beta as part of iOS 18,'

According to a TheVerge report of a rumour report from Bloomberg...

....and what dishonestly do is conflate a rollout in October with the
fact that some things always coming later.

You left out this from The Verge's reporting:

'Instead, the company reportedly plans on launching Apple Intelligence
with iOS 18.1 in October as it works to get the rollout right.'

And?

Here's what Apple actually said in their announcement on June 10, 2024.

Because you're apparently hard of reading, I'll put the salient point in
ALL CAPS:

'Apple Intelligence is free for users, and will be available in beta as
part of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia this fall in U.S. English.
SOME FEATURES, SOFTWARE PLATFORMS AND ADDITIONAL LANGUAGES WILL COME
OVER THE COURSE OF THE NEXT YEAR.'

<https://www.apple.com/ca/newsroom/2024/06/introducing-apple-intelligence-for-iphone-ipad-and-mac/>

In short:

The Verge has reported on a rumour reported by Bloomberg about Apple
Intelligence not being available with the initial release of iOS 18 and
instead coming with iOS 18.1 a month later.

You left out the part of it being just a month. As you left out that
18.1 beta has already gone out to developers.

You deliberately conflated this delay with the fact that Apple has
always said that some features of Apple Intelligence wouldn't be coming
until next spring.

'If you’ve been looking forward to injecting a little intelligence in
your Apple devices, the time is now. Apple on Monday rolled out
developer beta releases of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia
15.1, which include access to several—but notably, not all—of the
company’s previously announced AI-powered features.'
