Any other UK users of the Met Office app finding that for the last
couple of days or so the widget often hangs on "Getting your current
location" and doesn't update? If, as suggested you tap on the widget
you simply get a screen repeating the above message with no useful extra
information, not even an error message, which never progresses further.

I tried rebooting the phone, and it worked first time back in, but the
next time it reverted to the above. I tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the Met Office app, with no improvement. Meanwhile, the
BBC weather widget is working normally, but generally doesn't seem to be
as accurate in its forecasts.

Yesterday evening the phone updated to Android 15, but I think this was
happening before the upgrade.

Sorry. No problem here, apart from the fact that its predictions are not
very good here on Tyneside.

I think the last time I used the app (rather than website) was Saturday
or Sunday, but both seem OK, certainly now.

Could the delay be the phone trying, and failing, to geolocate you?

Don't think so. I have the locations permission set to permanently on,
and have turned off the phone's ability to manage the app, so that
hopefully it will be just left alone to run unhindered. When I first
unlock the phone with my finger it displays normally for a second or so,
but then immediately hangs as originally described.

Huh? Now it's working fine. The stars or the tea-leaves or the
chicken's entrails must be in the correct alignment now!
