It has nothing to do with "crossing," you fucking idiot. It has to do only with
being present in the country without authorization. As I have instructed you (an
idiot) many times, the large majority of people who are unlawfully present are
"visa overstays." They are people who *entered* the country legally, but then
remained in the U.S> beyond the expiration date of their visa. They have
committed *no* crime relating to immigration.

People who enter the country other than at a port of entry have committed the
crime of improper entry (8 U.S.C. § 1325). Those people comprise fewer than half
of all those who are unlawfully present. People who entered the country legally
but then did not depart on or before the expiration of their visa have committed
no immigration crime at all. Unlawful presence is *not* a crime.
