Just wait till you get the bill for replacing the batteries. A lot of EVs
are being junked at that point. Same goes if they're in an accident.
EVs will be disposable items like TVs and other electronics. I saw an ad
yesterday for an accident damaged EV going for $100. It got rear ended.

Phone batteries can be bought on Ebay for $15. But who compares EVs with
phones?

yep. you're lucky if the battery lasts ten years. when it does they're a
disposable item. sales of EV's have dropped dramatically as motorists
wise up to them.

I have had mine for 5 years,
no sign of needing a new battery.
In the same time frame my Jeep
needed a new radiator, a new
fuel pump, a new head gasket not
to mention the usual battery
and air filter and oil filters.

This is anecdotal. I've had my car for 9 years and had no major issues.
Granted, I do send it off the the mechanic once a year due to legal
reasons, and they might change oil/filters etc. but based on the cost, I
doubt very much any major problems have been found.

Also note that where I live, you have to do the same with electric.

I'm also curious if the range of your electric is decreased during winter?

Yep, in winter the range goes
down by about ten percent. In exchange
in never needs to "jumped" because it
ALWAYS starts. Personally I like that
trade off since I don't go on any
long trips in winter anyway. And
because of the low center of gravity
"hugs the road" better in bad weather.

OK if you don't like driving the back roads.

That's what I thought. Being originally from sweden, I've heard plenty of
stories about cold weather problems with EV:s.
