prosecutor, or you don't get the loan guarantees — to the government of Ukraine.
Biden was carrying out the *official* position of the U.S. government: the U.S.
government, as well as the governments of the U.K., France, Germany plus the
IMF, wanted Shokin fired because he wasn't investigating and prosecuting
corruption, which we — the west — wanted Ukraine to do. Because what Biden did
was not wrongful or unethical, he wasn't "confessing" to anything.

A /quid pro quo/ — "something for something" — may or may not be ethical and
legal. It depends on what the person offering it wants the other party to do,
and also on if the person making the offer has authority to do so. A father
saying to his teenage son "I'll give you $20 if you mow the front lawn and sweep
the driveway" is offering an ethical and legal /quid pro quo/ to his son.
scooter saying to a Republiscum/QAnon terrorist "I'll give you $1,000 if you
firebomb the local Democratic Party headquarters" is offering an *illegal* and
*unethical* /quid pro quo/. scooter dangling a promotion and salary increase to
a subordinate employee in exchange for sex is *illegal* and *unethical*.

Biden's /quid pro quo/ to Ukraine was legal and ethical. Trump's offer was not.
Trump was abusing his office. He threatened to hold up military aid, something
he had no authority to do, not for the benefit of the U.S., but for his own
corrupt personal political benefit: providing him with dirt to use against a
political opponent.

As always, scooter is deluding himself in thinking that he masterfully plays a
Usenet "gotcha" game. scooter does not have a "gotcha" at all, because his
beliefs about /quid pro quo/ are fucked up wrong and idiotic, and he is positing
a false equivalency between what Biden did and what Trump did. They are not
equivalent at all.

No it's not. It's a lie. That prosecutor was not investigating Hunter.

Quite the opposite, in fact. He was removed at the behest of the EU and US. The
EU was investing heavily in the Ukrainian economy and had discovered that much
of their investment was being eaten up by corruption. The prosecutor turned a
blind eye to it. As a result, Obama assigned Biden to carry the message that
unless the prosecutor was removed, Ukraine would not get an expected $1B in US
aid *or* any further aid and investment from the EU.

At the time this happened, Hunter was not in Ukraine or part of Burisma. That
all happened later.
