It's just normal refinement and revision of the data.

The U.S. economy added far fewer jobs in 2023 and early 2024 than previously
reported, a sign that cracks in the labor market are more severe — and began
forming earlier — than initially believed.

On Wednesday, the Labor Department said monthly payroll figures overstated
job growth by roughly 818,000 in the 12 months that ended in March. That
suggests employers added about 174,000 jobs per month during that period,
down from the previously reported pace of about 242,000 jobs — a downward
revision of about 28 percent.

The revisions, which are preliminary, are part of an annual process in which
monthly estimates, based on surveys, are reconciled with more accurate but
less timely records from state unemployment offices. The new figures, once
they’re made final, will be incorporated into official government employment
statistics early next year.

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/21/business/economy/us-jobs-economy.html

No "whistle blower" identified any malfeasance at BLS. The state unemployment
office data is more accurate than the survey data, but it isn't available when
the monthly estimates are made.

There was no "whistle blower" and no malfeasance at BLS. In fact, there isn't
even a story in right-wingnut fake news that *says* there was a "whistle blower."

Still puts Biden up by over 9 million new jobs.

$380 billion in 2018 and 2019, amounting to one of the largest tax increases in

Minus 818,000 they lied about.

Not once.*

>>>
>>> Jobs that were shed during the Democrat COVID fear debacle don't

*Millions* of new jobs beyond the replacement have been created. The BLS
Employment Situation report for March 2020 shows that employment under Trump
peaked in February of 2020, then fell in March as Trump's pandemic debacle began
to hit:

Feb 2020 Mar 2020

Employed: 158,759,000 155,772,000

https://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/empsit_04032020.pdf

Aug 2022 Sep 2022

Employed: 158,732,000 158,936,000

https://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/empsit_10072022.pdf

So all "lost" jobs starting in March 2020 had been "replaced" by September 2022.
All jobs growth since then are *new* jobs, due to the booming economy.

>>
>> Still puts Biden up by over 9 million new jobs.

No, not that many *net* new jobs:

Jul 2024

Employed: 161,266,000

https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf

So, subtracting March 2020 employment level from July 2024 level:

161,266,000 - 158,759,000 = 2,507,000

So, based on the *preliminary* (survey) data that is *always* published in the
Employment Situation reports, 2.5 million net *new* jobs were created under Biden.

Those figures are *always* adjusted later, based on state unemployment office
data that isn't available in a timely manner when the employment situation data
are published. NOTE: there is nothing nefarious or "sneaky" about this. It
happens all the time under every administration. There was no "whistleblower"
who "leaked" anything that led to this 818,000 downward revision to employment.
It's standard revision by BLS. Note also that sometimes the revision is upward.

Harris, of course.

Nope. No lying, no "whistleblower" — standard revision that takes place under
every administration.

If Trump can reroute all the social security checks to Mar-a-Lardo Biden
could easily change the employment numbers.

Returning back to work after covid is not job growth. Making jobs like
counselors for snowflakes and extra IRS agents is not job growth. Lying
about 818,000 is not job growth.

There was a whistle blower.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo blasted for dismissing grim job revisions as
Trump 'misinformation' - when figures came from Labor Department

By Gabriel Hays, Fox News

Social media users trashed President Biden's Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo
for admitting to ABC News on Wednesday that she wasn't "familiar" with the day's
major revision to the jobs numbers.

ABC News correspondent Kayna Whitworth asked Raimondo what she thought of the
jobs numbers revision by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

"I am curious as to your thoughts on today the Bureau of Labor saying that more
than 800,000 fewer jobs were actually created than initially reported,"
Whitworth said.

The reporter played a clip of former President Donald Trump talking about the
report at his rally in North Carolina on Wednesday. "The administration padded
the numbers with an extra - listen to this one - 818,000 jobs that don't exist.
So they said they existed and they never did exist. They built 'em up so they
could say what a wonderful job they're doing," Trump said.

Raimondo appeared to dismiss the news as Trump spreading misinformation, and
when asked if the revision could be a liability for Democratic presidential
nominee Vice President Harris, she said no.

"No. When I hear that, first of all, I don't believe it because I've never heard
Donald Trump say anything truthful," Raimondo said.

"It is from the Bureau of Labor," Whitworth responded.

"I'm not familiar with that," Raimondo said, despite the report having been
released several hours earlier.

Raimondo moved on to tout optimism around Harris' "pro-business" economic vision
for the country. Meanwhile, the presidential candidate has been dinged in recent
days for proposing what critics, including from the left, described as
government price controls on businesses.

Social media users couldn't believe that one of the government's top economic
officials wasn't familiar with the news of the jobs report.

National Review senior writer Charles Cooke commented, "This is the Secretary of
Commerce."

Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich wrote, "There's only so much you can fake or
hide before things come crashing down. Biden's decline, cooking the books on the
economy, redefining 'recession,' etc."

"Holy hell. We are governed by idiots," conservative commentator Ned Ryun
declared.

Libs of TikTok creator Chaya Raichik wrote, "This is the Secretary of Commerce
btw."

Comedian Tim Young stated, "They think you're stupid."

What a shame. I guess that means Biden only created 9 million jobs instead of
10 million.

That number wasn't for the whole time he was in office.
