New Poll From Conservative Group Spells Disaster for Trump
The results show Kamala Harris enjoying significant momentum in several key
swing states.

New polling data out Thursday shows Vice President Kamala Harris and former
President Donald Trump neck and neck in several key swing states.

Surveys conducted by conservative market researcher Public Opinion Strategies
for the Competitiveness Coalition showed Harris leading Trump in Pennsylvania
(48 percent to 45 percent) and Wisconsin (48�46). The two are also tied 45�45
in the battleground state of Michigan.

Meanwhile, Trump squeezed ahead of Harris in Nevada and Arizona by one
percentage point and three percentage points, respectively. The survey was
conducted between July 23 and 29. Pollsters spoke to 400 people in each
battleground state, resulting in a margin of error of plus or minus 2.19
percent.

Despite 57 percent of those polled saying they disapprove of the job Joe
Biden has done as president, a number still said Harris would have their
vote. Across the five states, Trump and Harris tied perfectly, each with 46
percent of the vote.

Voters chose inflation, border security, and threats to American democracy
out of a list of options as their key issues, with abortion following close
behind.

A Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll of registered voters published Tuesday
showed Harris with a larger lead in Michigan, beating Trump by 11 percentage
points. In Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada, she held a two percentage point
advantage.

Political polling is not always the best indicator of public opinion, as
polls tend to eliminate nuance or only capture opinions from the most
politically active people. But the new data is still significant considering
how far Biden was trailing behind Trump in the final days of his campaign.

It's a little unclear; however, the market researcher is "Public
Opinion Strategies" (POS); their client was: "The Competitiveness
Coalition" which would qualify as a "conservative group". POS is a
well known political market research firm. If the researcher were
anything but neutral, their research would be worthless. You don't
pay a market research firm big bucks to tell you what you want to
hear... not if you have any sense, anyway.

I don't think that Kamala's bump in the polls amounts to much in and
of itself. As her ascendancy to the top of the Democratic ticket
upstaged the Donald's nicked ear, something else will grab the media's
attention by the end of the week, and she'll be old news.

The poll says it's essentially a toss up. Immediately after Jan 6,
2021, I was saying: "At least that's so much for Donald Trump." This
time, we'll have to drive a wooden stake through his heart!

I'll keep my money on Kamala. I don't put a lot of faith in polls one
way or the other. The Donald's base will vote for him no matter
*what* he does, but he'll need more than that to win in the general
election, and he has a long time left to step on his dick before the
election. See: The National Association of Black Journalists annual
conference, 2024 for a good example. They were never strong
supporters, but were willing to listen to him... instead, he went in
and picked a big shit-fight.

letter, paper, writing, print, missive, or document containing any
threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon
the President of the United States, the President-elect, the Vice
President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office
of President of the United States, or the Vice President-elect, or
knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the
President, President-elect, Vice President or other officer next in the

Service Protectees
The Counterterrorism Section of the National Security Division has
supervisory authority over 18 U.S.C. §§ 871 and 879 cases. As great
caution must be taken in matters relating to the security of the persons
protected by 18 U.S.C. § 871, United States Attorneys are encouraged to
consult with the Counterterrorism Section (CTS) of the National Security
Division when they have doubts on the prosecutive merit of a case. For
the same reason, dismissal of complaints under 18 U.S.C. § 871, when the
defendant is in custody under the Mental Incompetency Statutes (18
U.S.C. §§ 4244, 4246), requires approval from CTS. In other cases,
United States Attorneys must consult prior to dismissing a count

PHOENIX –David Michael Hanson, 41, of Phoenix, was arrested on Wednesday
for making online threats against the President and Vice-President.
Hanson was charged by Federal criminal complaint on Tuesday with five
counts of Threats Against the President and Successors to the Presidency
and five counts of Interstate Communication of Threats.

The complaint alleges that in November and December of 2023, while
living in Arizona, Hanson used a social media platform to post threats
to murder the President and Vice President of the United States. On
November 19, 2023, Hanson posted online a series of threatening
statements including one that stated, “#joeAndKamala I’m asking you to
resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered.” After the
U.S. Secret Service spoke to Hanson and warned him that it was a Federal
crime to post such threats, on December 23, 2023, Hanson posted another
series of similar threats aimed at the President and Vice-President.

Each count of Threats Against the President and Successors to the
Presidency carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a fine of
up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Each count
of Interstate Communication of Threats carries a maximum sentence of
five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of
supervised release.

A complaint is simply a method by which a person is charged with
criminal activity and raises no inference of guilt. An individual is
presumed innocent until evidence is presented to a jury that establishes
guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
