Here we can see the *corona* which is the
outer part of the Sun's atmosphere; and is
usually hidden by the bright light from the
Sun's surface.

But we see it here briefly during this total
solar eclipse.

Did you witness it yourself? I hope so! If not, the next major one is
something like 6 minutes and tracks across the southern US. I hope to live
another 20 years to see it!! We were on the centerline for the April 8th
one in southeast Missouri with less than 1% cloud cover.

I did in 2017. Centerline. What an experience!

I also the 2017 one, also! (Also from Missouri.) It was good but not
as long as the most recent one. It's good that you got to see at least one.
