(you can also see the graph here:
https://www.bls.gov/charts/employment-situation/civilian-unemployment-rate.htm)

Some things to note:

* in normal times, unemployment "ticks up" and "ticks down" frequently;
you pay attention to trends, not "ticks"
* the lowest rate in this interval, 3.4% in Jan 2023, occurred under Biden
* the highest rates, *by far*, occurred under Trump
* the rate was under 4% for *twenty-seven* consecutive months under Biden
* unemployment was falling nearly continually during the Obama administration

To see the unimpeachable truth of that latter fact — yes, a *fact*, not a
"claim" — go to the page and near the top on the left, change the "from" year
from the default of 2014 to 2010, then click "go" to the right. Note the graph.
It shows a downward trend from 2010 through the end of 2015, before flattening
some. Then it starts down again after 2017, but *not as steeply* as it was
falling under Obama. Then, of course it shoots to the stratosphere when Trump
collapsed the economy due to his catastrophic mismanagement of the pandemic.

Here's another instructive page: the historical civilian labor force
participation rate
https://www.bls.gov/charts/employment-situation/civilian-labor-force-participation-rate.htm

You can see that it plummeted when W. Bush crashed the economy in 2008, but
thereafter, even after the economy was recovering (*strongly*) in the 2010s, the
participate rate continued to fall. Why is that? The answer is unambiguous: baby
boomers were retiring by the millions. They remain part of the civilian
noninstitutionalized population, but they're neither working nor seeking work.
Fuckwits like Kremlin Girl / Bit of Nothingness have a hard time grasping this,
but that's what retirement *means*: you're not working and not seeking work.
That's what's known as "normal" for people who retire.

Starting *before* Trump, the participation rate began edging back up. Trump gets
no credit for that, obviously. Although there were "ticks" in the rate, the
trend was upward from the low point under Obama (62.4% in September 2015) until
Trump crashed the economy in Mar-April 2020. Then the trend again was upward
until the end of 2023. Then the trend has been slightly down, from 62.8% in
November 2023 to 62.6% in June 2024. What does it mean? I don't know. The oldest
Gen Xers are 59, and some undoubtedly are retiring. A bigger factor is boomer
retirements. The baby boom is generally dated from 1946 through 1964, but the
distribution of births was *heavily* weighted toward the latter part of it.

Births by year:

1946 — 3.47 million
1947 — 3.9 million
1948 — 3.5 million
1949 — 3.56 million
1950 — 3.6 million
1951 — 3.75 million
1952 — 3.85 million
1953 — 3.9 million
1954 — 4 million
1955 — 4.1 million
1956 — 4.16 million
1957 — 4.3 million
1958 — 4.2 million
1959 — 4.25 million
1960 — 4.26 million
1961 — 4.3 million
1962 — 4.17 million
1963 — 4.1 million
1964 — 4 million

https://www.thoughtco.com/baby-boom-overview-1435458

There are *lots* of boomers from the second half of the boom who are starting to
retire, decreasing the labor force participation rate.

I can tell you one other person who doesn't know, in fact doesn't have a fucking
clue, and that's Kremlin Girl / Bit of Nothingness. She's just a hyper-partisan
cunt who doesn't know a fucking thing, and will tell any lie to try to make her
savior Trump look good. Sorry, but you just can't make a lump of dog shit look good.
